Additional The BFG Information

"Well, first of all, " said the BFG, "human beans is not really believing in giants, is they? Human beans is not thinking we exist."

Sophie discovers that giants not only exist, but that there are a great many of them who like to guzzle and swallomp nice little chiddlers. But not the Big Friendly Giant. He and Sophie cook up an ingenious plot to free the world of troggle-humping -- forever.

Performed by Natasha Richardson

What Customers Say About The BFG:

My son and I are only half way through so far, but we are really enjoying it.

It's a book filled with adventure between Sophie and the giant. In the book the giant takes Sophie to the giant country. I thought that part was funny because the giant takes a bite of the snozzcumber and spits it everywhere. The most important thing I learned from this book is don't judge a person by what they look like.

fox.I recommend this book because it's full of adventure and fun. Also known as don't judge a book by its cover.Other books by this author are James and the giant peach, Charlie and the chocolate factory, and fantastic mr.

Imagine what it would feel like being kidnapped by a giant and never being able to go back home ever again. He takes her dream catching and shows her snozzcumbers and frobscottle but when they find out that the bloodbottler giants are going to England to gobble up some people for dinner they have to spring in to action and save the day.My favorite part of the book is when the giant shows Sophe snozzcumbers.

This is a book revolved around friendship so you should check it out at your library soon because your missing out big time on a great book. Well that's what happened to Sophie when she spots a giant through her window in the book the BFG by Roald Dahl.

When Sophie found out that the giant isn't that bad of a guy Sophie and the giant got to be good friends.

The Big Friendly Giant (BFG) hears Sophie with his large ears and swifts her off to Giant Country. Though she and the BFG were different, they were passionate about their plan and executed it. Sophie, an orphan girl in England, spots a giant peeking into windows at night during "the witching hour". The BFG's appearance was also different from the other giants; he was shorter and dressed different. "Frobscottle", "Snozzcumber", and "Gobblefunk" are all words used by Roald Dahl that can found in The BFG.

With Dahl's hidden morals this book could be read and discussed with preteens to raise awareness about the importance of peer pressure. We feel that this read is suitable for children and adults who enjoy fantasy stories and who are able to escape from reality and enter an imaginary world. Sophie a young optimistic, open minded girl makes the best of her situation with the BFG. He created his stories for his own children teaching them that good prevails evil, which can be seen throughout his collection of children books. The Big Friendly Giant was different from the other giants because he did not eat children; instead he wanted the best for them. With his fun and light hearted writing techniques he makes potential heavy topics easy for children to cope with such as, giants, death, and nightmares. Due to her findings there, she and the BFG embark on a mission to England to save the children of the world. The BFG is another one of Dahl's children books that allow an outlet for children to escape into a fantasy world with hidden morals.

This book is a children's fictional book best suitable for children ages 9-12, but can be enjoyed by many because of its funny language, fantasy settings, and loveable characters. Both characters provide young readers with a message to be true to themselves and not become a victim of peer pressure. Though we see the hidden morals, children may not be able to see them and will think of The BFG as a fun read. When Sophie arrived at Giant Country, a fictional country created, she found out about the nine other giants. He would catch dreams and blow them to children while they slept.

This is one of the only books I remember from back then, and I would def recommend it for children to read. I read this book over 15 years ago in elementary school, and I loved it.

There are 7 giants in giant world. I loved it so much I could not stop reading it. It is filled with fantasy characters like giants.

They find that the other 6 giants will plan to eat the queen of England. But best of all, it's hilarious. Read the book to find out how they stop the giants.
